ImmunoCAP™
(pronounced: immune'-oh-cap) IS THE NEWEST (AND BEST) ALLERGENS TESTING
METHODOLOGY AVAILABLE TODAY!
(And, we're pretty sure
that we charge less for it than anyone else in the entire
U.S.A., too!) The
laboratory blood test methodology used for these screens - commercially
known as "ImmunoCAP™"
is arguably the best available in medicine today for identifying
allergies. You do not suffer the discomfort of needle pricks in your
arm or back at the doctor's office or the misdiagnosis by an
office clinician who inaccurately "reads" the ensuing welts on your
skin! This blood test not only tells you "what" you are allergic
to...it also tells you "to what degree" (i.e., 'low', 'med.', or 'high')
a particular allergy affects you.
ImmunoCAP™
is
fantastic!
"A new blood test, called the ImmunoCAP™,
is now available and may be more accurate than the RAST tests,
particularly for identifying food allergies."
Nov. 2001, The American College of Allergy, Asthma and
Immunology
"According to P. Brock Williams, a physician at the University of
Missouri Medical School, ImmunoCAP™
is a quantum leap forward over previous tests. In a recent study
comparing the precision of the five currently available (allergy) blood
tests, Williams and his colleagues sent disguised blood samples to six
labs for tests using 17 common culprits, from giant ragweed to cat
dander. Unlike other tests, ImmunoCAP™
came in close to perfect. "We needed a good objective test," says
Williams. "And we've found it."
from Health Magazine, 2001, Health Magazine Publishing, Inc.
"Just remember: If a blood test isn't called ImmunoCAP™,
be wary."
from Health Magazine, 2001, Health Magazine Publishing, Inc.
"Leading
institutions such as Johns Hopkins, the Mayo Clinic and the Cleveland
Clinic use
ImmunoCAP™
for their patients. Unlike older blood-testing technologies,
ImmunoCAP™
has been proven accurate and reliable, and it produces results you can
trust."
Pharmacia Diagnostics, 2003

YOUR
COST THROUGH HTD™:
Food allergies- $40 to test "one" allergen; additional
allergens tested are then $25 each

Outdoor allergies- same pricing as above
Mold-specific allergies- same pricing as above
Call us at 1-800-456-4647 ext. 203 to order.
Please note:
Due to the special handling, packaging and shipping associated with the
ImmunoCAP™ process, there is a minimum $25 fee charged
us by the clinic to perform your blood draw, and approximately $25 is
our cost of shipping your specimen to the lab. Therefore, to test
for "one" allergen, your minimum charge is $90 (i.e., minimum of $50
shipping/handling + $40 to test for one allergen). Any additional
allergens you want tested are then only $25 each (e.g., testing for
10
different allergens would be approximately $50 shipping/handling + one
allergen at $40 + 9 allergens at $25 each = $315 total).
If your order tests for at least "30"
different allergens or more, we will waive the $50 minimum additional
charges normally charged to you for shipping, handling, and your blood
draw- we will absorb (pay) those costs ourselves. That will save you
as much as 6.5% over the normal cost.
YOUR TIME SPENT FOR A BLOOD DRAW: Less
than 10 minutes
(No
previous M.D. or clinic visit required)
(No
previous prescription needed)
(No
appointment necessary)
BLOOD TEST RESULTS CONFIDENTIALLY AVAILABLE TO YOU: Usually within

BLOOD testS
(SCREENS) FOR ALLERGIES ARE NECESSARY FOR THIS REASON:
Allergies
that millions
of Americans suffer are a result of their hypersensitivity to common
elements found in the environment. Identifying the allergen that causes
your symptoms is a key first step in controlling allergies. Allergens
include pollens, grasses, dusts, molds, animal dander, insect
venoms, occupational exposures and foods. Because of recent advances,
this can now be done with a simple blood test that is simpler and less
irritating than the traditional skin test. Many people who think they
have allergies, who have never been tested don’t have allergies at all.
NOTE: Studies have
shown that up to two-thirds (2 out of every 3) of the people who "think"
they have allergies DO NOT! Effectively then, as many as two out of
three people are spending money on unnecessary, expensive allergy
medications that are not helping them...or making things worse.
Do you think YOU have allergies? Find out for certain!

SCREEN YOUR BLOOD
FOR ALLERGIES HOW OFTEN?
Once the allergen(s) is/are identified, further testing is usually NOT
necessary unless new symptoms become evident.
ALLERGY TESTS
WILL TELL YOU:
Allergies are
tested by grouping three distinct allergen panels. You may elect to be
tested for any one or all of these three distinct allergen panels.
The “type” of exposure determines the grouping:
Food AllergIES:
Some people do become sensitized to certain foods or food components.
Because food allergies can cause serious and even life-threatening
reactions, it is important to recognize this condition and determine its
cause.
Once the specific cause of a food allergy is identified, it is usually
recommended that this food or food component be strictly avoided.
Sometimes, however, it is difficult to get information about the
ingredients of foods found in the home or in restaurants.
The most common food allergens include peanuts, walnuts, milk and
shellfish. The Food Allergy Panel includes the following and other
important food allergens:
Milk/
Egg white/Peanut/Walnut/Corn/
Wheat/
Soybean/
Codfish/
Clam/Shrimp
Outdoor AllergIES:
Pollen grains from a variety of wind-pollinated plants are major
seasonal allergens. In many regions of the U.S., the pollens appear in a
sequence starting with tree pollens in the spring, grass pollens in the
summer and weed pollens in the late summer and fall. In other regions of
the country, because of differences in climate, all three kinds of
pollens may be present at the same time.
Including tree pollens, grasses and weeds and mold spores that
are common to your geographic region.
Indoor AllergIES:
The most troublesome indoor allergens include the fur or dander of dogs
and cats, mold spores and dust mites and their waste products.
These microscopic organisms thrive in mattresses, pillows, upholstered
furniture and carpet.
The Indoor Allergy Panel tests your blood for the presence of IgE to the
various allergens including:
Dog dander/
Cat dander/
Dust mites/Aspergillus
fumigatus/
Mucor racemosus/Penicillium
notatum
For which allergens should I be tested?
While you can
choose from hundreds of allergens, most patients presenting nasal
symptoms can be tested effectively with a "geographical region test
profile" consisting of only 12-18 of the most common inhalant allergens
that are specific to the geographical region in which they live, along
with total IgE.
For example, the "geographical region test profile" for persons residing
in the state of California would include testing their blood for the
presence of IgE to a dozen various allergens including:
Cottonwood/ Maple/box elder/ Mountain cedar/Junipe/Olive/Walnut/
White oak/ Bermuda grass/ Redtop grass/ False ragweed/ Alternaria
alternata. If you live elsewhere, call Health-Tests
Direct
(1-800-456-4647 ext. 203) to find out what the test panel includes for
your own particular region of the country.
Blood tests that indicate abnormalities in your blood system-
i.e., you are "out of normal range" - can alert you to take
action. That action might be a visit to a physician or simply a
different diet and exercise. In any case, "knowing" if something is
wrong with you - and what is wrong - are the first steps to
correction of a poor health condition. A blood test can "keep you
in the know" about your personal health!
